Introduction to Putnam Central School
Nestled
in the Adirondack Mountains between Lake Champlain and Lake George is
Putnam Station, New York. Its is located just off Route 22 with Whitehall
to the south and Ticonderoga to the north. This area was originally
settled by the Scottish and has the charm of farmland along with
beautiful, rolling hills.
Putnam Central School is Putnam Station's "UNIQUE" rural school serves
students from Pre-Kindergarten
through the 6th grade. This school is a place where certified staff
provide students with individual attention, peer tutoring,
literature-based reading, process writing, hands-on-learning, multi aged
grouping, cross curricular-thematic instruction, the development of
portfolios and the opportunity to developing themselves to their fullest
potential in a positive school climate.
In addition, at PCS we have access to
state-of-the-art technology including high speed Internet access,
streaming video and cd-roms in every classroom. This enables teachers and
students to acquire the new skills needed for living in the 21st Century. |
